    What Is Google Adwords?

    780 520 Jason McMahon

AdWords (now Google Ads) is a product that was developed by Google to enable you to pay for your website to appear in the search results most valuable to you. Over the past decade, it has evolved from a little-used way for Google to monetize its service offering to a powerful marketing tool used by businesses of all sizes and industries worldwide.

As a user, you will have noticed AdWords listings above Google’s normal search results — they look similar to the organic listings, but are subtly labelled an advertisement. While you may not always click on these results (we find only 12% of Google traffic goes to AdWords), they play a powerful role in the marketing mix.

There are many advantages of Google AdWords. Listed below are a couple of them, just to get started…

    • You can turn AdWords on and off as you please. Unlike other, more permanent marketing solutions, you can have an AdWords campaign up and running in a matter of days and begin reaching customers almost immediately. This is especially helpful for seasonal events and sales — such as Christmas parties and EOFY sales — and when you’re looking to introduce a product to market for the first time. There is far less waiting for momentum to build and businesses can see results quickly.
    • AdWords is very trackable. Google assists you in obtaining seemingly endless information about the performance of your AdWords campaign — much more so than in organic listings. This enables businesses to establish and track tangible return on investment and set realistic, measurable goals.

Combined, these make for a valuable marketing tool, enabling businesses to determine exactly how their customers interact with their product offerings and website. The most important thing to keep in mind when considering Google AdWords is that you only get out as much as you put in. By letting the experienced digital analysts and strategists at Bambrick Media in Brisbane manage and optimise your AdWords campaign on an ongoing basis, you can be sure you’re getting the most for your money.
