The Highgate, an apartment building in Highgate Hill, has had immense success in their first month of release:

    From The Brisbane Times

‘Three quarters of the exclusive apartment development, The Highgate, have sold after just a month on the market.

The project on Dornoch Terrace in Highgate Hill will include 42 prestige residences, next to the city’s first high-rise residential tower, the Torbreck.

Developer Pointcorp said after $50 million worth of sales, construction in the eight-level block would now be brought forward by two months, from February to December.

“This just confirms our belief that there is demand for this high-end, luxury product and that’s what we’re delivering,” director Chris Vitale said.

There have been almost 500 inquiries since launch day and all 30 sales were to Brisbane locals.

Described by lead architect Sandra Browne from Cottee Parker as ‘a building in a garden’, The Highgate will take up less than 20 per cent of the 4900 sq metre site, a rarity in apartment living.

Browne said the concept for The Highgate started with the idea of a luxurious home in the sky, with each taking full advantage of the city views.

“With a mix of three bedroom and penthouse apartments, every unit will have its own lift, opening directly onto a lobby to promote a sophisticated, hotel-type feel,” said Browne.

“It’s a very simple, elegant design that respects its neighbours.”

The north-east facing site is situated 60 metres above sea level and is just 2km from the CBD.

Mr Vitale said the $70 million development is being undertaken at a time when Brisbane’s prestige property market is rebounding.

“There are so many special things about The Highgate from its never-to-be repeated location, to the range of talented people we’ve worked with,” he said.

Each residence will feature private kitchens designed by celebrity chef and author Neil Perry, intended to be the centrepiece of the apartment.

The development will also be the first apartment project in Australia to feature Perry’s new appliance range from Neil Perry Kitchen By Omega.

“Cooking should be about enjoyment so it was paramount the kitchen design focused on functionality throughout, while still incorporating a sense of luxury,” said Perry.

One of the development’s most distinguishing features is its focus on the garden, described by landscape architect Steve Dunn as an “urban oasis with a wild twist”.

“These garden spaces will be generous, integrated, private and light-filled,” he said.

While The Highgate will be one of Brisbane’s most exclusive, it won’t be the most expensive.

Earlier this year Sunland Group sold two of its Abian apartments, situated at the entrance to the Botanic Gardens, for more than $4.5 million.

Located on the 28th floor, the two-bedroom sky homes feature 560 sq metres of open plan living.

The Highgate apartments ranged in price from $1.53 million to the $3,610,000 penthouse.

The sales agent is Sam Patterson from PointCorp.’

Congratulations to Pointcorp and The Highgate!
